Laurie Avon x National Theatre

Laurie Avon was lucky to have been asked to collaborate on a dream project, working alongside The National Theatre and The Roald Dahl company on their brand new musical production of The Witches.
Working closely with The National Theatre’s Graphics department, Art Director Louise Richardson and key stakeholders at The Roald Dahl Company, Laurie worked his magic to create the shows brand identity along with a teaser animation to announce the shows launch. Providing plenty of exciting and dynamic options for them to choose from.
Throughout the process Laurie took inspiration from his printmaking background and love of relief printing, creating a folk art inspired aesthetic to match the tone and creative direction for the production.
Delving deep into his texture library and dusting off his animation skills, Laurie created synergy between the elements to emulate the productions narrative focus and characters.
