Taking cues from his roots in linocut printmaking, Brighton-based, Laurie Avon creates illustrations with an organic, handmade feel. Working predominantly digitally in his commissioned work Laurie blends imaginative compositions and perspectives with craft and texture to create contemporary tableau. With influences from Eric Fraser’s Lord of the rings relief prints to sci fi illustration, music and protest art, Laurie is dedicated to his craft. As well as digital illustration he can offer bespoke linocuts for special projects and stamp making workshops.
Laurie’s clients include Rapha, The Guardian, TIME, La Repubblica, BBC History, Campbell Hay, Tortoise, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and Penguin Books.
